Wine tour – Brestovitsa

Bulgaria is known for its variety of traditional wine grapes. The country’s climate, geographical location and soil are exceptional for vine growing and wine making. Each year Plovdiv hosts Wine Fair and probably one of the most interesting traditions that dates back to ancient times, is the holiday “Trifon’s Day”, which is celebrated on February 14. In the unique atmosphere of the Fair hall available for the guests are: wine tasting with appropriate appetizers; walk-in wine cellar, methods of storing wine and myths and legends telling, along with folklore program. Brestovitsa is a village in Rhodopi mountain only 18km from Plovdiv. The village exists since the 12th century and is the home village of few of the best wineries in Bulgaria
